So the party thing is a red herring that distracts from the hate filled words that have filled the airways that bring out the kooks, some of whom are actually a-political.

The scary thing for our security professionals will be tracking and dealing with the folks who aren't extreme for the right or the left, but are simply anti-establishment now. Much of the current table-thumping rhetoric is skewed to the idea that government has failed and/or been taken over by evil aliens, the economy has failed, social order is about to break down, etc.

The most extreme nuts will lash out anywhere they can if/when they perceive threats coming at them from all directions.

I agree with this is you are talking about membership. But something different is at stake: which elements of which party are inflaming the kooks right now. It's very clear, in both instances, that it's folk of the further right, not the further left.

My first thought too, was that there is no party for that sort of twisted hatred.

Trying to pin his viewpoint on either Dem or GOP is just comical, especially when you see how flimsy the "evidence" is.
