Hawk, no problem. I totally understand. My Grandmother died due to the nurse forgetting to put her bed post up and they said she fell out of bed. Knowing my Grandmother she tried to get up. I didn't know things were so bad and we should have been there. I'll regret it forever as she is who practically raised me. It won't happen again with my Mother and Father who aren't looking too good these days. It's scary watching them go from a pillar of strength widdling down to nothing. Then my own health isn't very good.

I should give this fight up at work and figure out how to go on disability. Strange how a person can help people do all day long what they need to do them self and when it comes to helping myself I have no clue.

I truly feel for you with all my heart. God Bless you and your family. It's hard doing anything about medical errors but if people don't fight them things just go by and next thing you know people get lax. It's not always about the money it's about the care. It's in a sorry state in America. Many places that have low income people even use help that don't speak english. How are they to be able to talk to them? I guess for the medical facility owner it's a good thing as they won't go talk about what they shouldn't, right?

Hawkmoon: Sorry to hear about the loss of your father. You said he was in the hospital in Houston. Was it the Baylor College of Medicine. You said he had an infection.

My brother in law had a hip replacement at Baylor. He contracted a staff infection in the transfer site and eventually died from it after a 5 month battle in which they eventually took the metal hip replacement out. The type he had was a 'super bug', and was unresponsive to antibiotic therapy.

He died a terrible death. He ended up on life support for several weeks. Nothing attempted worked.

Again ,,,sorry for your loss.

Gregor

Hawk, I am so sorry that your family had to go through all of that. I had to take my mother off of life support when she went into cardiac arrest three times in a row while in intensive care from too much chemotherapy for colon cancer. It is a heartwrenching experience. My prayers are with you and your family.
