Re: "Do you disagree with Obama?"

We haven't had a President within my lifetime who didn't advance some policies with which I disagreed. (Current one definitely included.)

How about YOU, Bill?

What were YOU doing and saying while the last TEN TRILLION DOLLARS of national debt were being run up?

Were YOU pushing for Pay-as-you-Go budget rules, and a Balanced Budget amendment for our Constitution across the terms of all of those Presidents, all those Democrats AND Republicans, and across all of those various Congresses LIKE I WAS Bill???????????????????????????

No, you weren't.

Because you are only a 'sunshine fiscal conservative' --- you only mouth the words when someone you DON'T LIKE holds the reins of power. Not when someone you DO LIKE is in office.

When it comes down to the fundamental choice of fiscal conservatism *or* partisanship you choose partisanship every time.

That's because:
===========================================

Fake 'fiscal conservatives' only call for balanced budgets when the OTHER GUY is in charge, never when their own blokes are running things!

It is ALWAYS the OTHER GUY'S spending programs that are 'wasteful' and 'too much', NEVER THEIR OWN SAINTED PROJECTS.

And, the one CLEAR TEST, the one factor that UNITES ALL THE FAKE FISCAL CONSERVATIVES --- whether they be from the Dem, or from the GOP --- is that INVARIABLY they will ALWAYS OPPOSE EVERY SERIOUS EFFORT at structural reform of budgeting. (Those things that, without which, there will never be balanced budgets, never be parsimony and restraint....)

Such as such simple expedients as "Pay as you Go" rules for new spending proposals or, even more significant by far, a Balanced Budget Amendment for the US Constitution.

Support neither? Always point your finger at the 'other guy's' pet spending programs and never your own? Then you are LEGION! One of the public majority that comprises the mass that is FAKE FISCAL CONSERVATIVES.

People who love to carp about spending... but run for the hills when anything that stands a chance of reining in BOTH PARTY'S over-spending proclivities is proposed. :-(
