Actually, you will find articles by republicans against Bush spending as well as posts by republicans against spending during Bush term.

It was not shouted as loud as you may have wanted, but it was there regularly.


Yes, it was..but overwhelmed by Cheney's pronouncement to the Treasury Secretary that "deficits don't matter", and this long before Iraq's costs came on line.

Remember Tom Delay's comments that the republicans had just cut as much out of the budget as could be cut, and there was no more possible?

If Congress controls the purse, it seems the republican congress...standing opposed to Bush and Cheney's apparent instinct to spend, could have stood much taller.

And the democrats love to spend, and tax, but what is to stop them if the republicans have no standing on such critical issues? And Boehner and McConnell don't.

Buddy's right. A balanced budget amendment is the only way to get either party to really address the issues..
