Is there any market for low power displays left for Mirasol?

If Q can get the costs comparable to LCD's, Mirasol should own the market for secondary displays as well as any devices where sunlight readability is critical. With the bistable nature of Mirasol, I can even imagine the displays creating brand new markets.

However, for the main display on most handsets, display quality is as important as power consumption. The few statistics that Qualcomm has given lead me to believe that Mirasol's display quality doesnt match either LCD's or OLED's. With video becoming more and more popular on handsets, I have a hard time believing that the industry will move towards a lower quality display...no matter how large the power savings.

Low power has been around for so long now that it almost seems like nothing more than yesterday's promise. Mirasol's truly unique value offering is having something that one can read in bright sunlight. To be truly effective, that capability will need to be coupled with some sort of add-on to make it also an effective low light display. The ability to cost effectively deliver colourful hi-res video, without added complexity, will make or break our display efforts.

The goal line is always moving. In order to break away from the pack these days, technical advancement has to be multi-faceted. Low power usage is quickly becoming a must have non distinguishing trait.
