We should use this new index to compare mobile phones because they are often used outdoors. If Mirasol had decent specs, they would disclose both their numbers according to the existing standards as well as their new "improved" metrics. Just an observation, but when talking about MediaFLO, Qualcomm has consistently highlighted how much the service was used at home. Similarly, I can say both for myself and anecdotally from other people that home usage of the iPhone is absolutely huge. I very much doubt that people are going to sacrifice their display quality in indoor situations so they can get better image/video while sitting in a park. This seems more like a niche use than the primary use that would cause a mass migration of handset displays. Slacker
