I would agree that as a legal adult he is entitled to drink himself into a complete stupor if he so desires, but nothing entitles a person to then drive on public roads while they're impaired

Slam dunk, no exceptions, no excuses -- the impaired driving laws are very clear and everybody knows them, even Mounties and provincial Premiers
