How can Americans NOT be misled when a pillar of Capitalism
owns almost all the media.

ML,

Almost all of the Mainstream Media is owned by pillars of capitalism, mostly huge corporations.

You can bet that all the discussions you hear on their media will be supportive of the power structure, and that any really inconvenient topic will be minimized.

And yet, somehow, the myth that the MSM is liberal endures.

Oh well, the Devil's greatest trick was convincing us that he doesn't exist, LOL.

Suma, excluding radio which indeed is given over to right wing harangues, it seems to me there's a pretty good balance in the other media. Or has been. The future of print media is very uncertain.

Most of the largest major newspapers have a liberal bias, as do the major magazines such as Time, Newsweek, The Nation and the New Yorker. No large circulation right-wing magazine pops into my mind but maybe I'm overlooking something.

MSNBC provides an entertaining counter to Fox News.

As for the internet as a propaganda force, my sense is that there are probably many more blogs and on-line magazines that argue for the liberal viewpoint on social and political issues.

It all seems well-balanced to me or even slightly tipped to the liberal side.
