Me too on the cuts.

As to "pressure", there can be none until the republicans offer an alterenative that has teeth. How would you suggest pressure be applied right now by the toothless republicans?

As stated many times, the republicans have to develop policies people believe are sincere, and resonate with their personal concerns. The messengers can't be tainted with past hypocrisy.

The reason I focus on the republicans reforming themselves is because that is the only way (other than a third party....maybe a better solution if the republicans stay fixed on social issues) to influence the democrats.

You and I filling out petitions won't get the job done.

"Pressure the Democrats to cut spending"? How?

They should go after the fraud in SS disability in a very hard way. Follow them, take pictures of them pulling up to the mall, parking in the handicapped lanes and then jogging into the building to get to the gym.

The things I have seen with the disability fraud is truly hilarious...at least when they are caught. When they aren't caught it is simply sad.

IRS enforcement of organized, false returns that generate refunds is terrible as well. The enforcement agents do a great job as do the numerous State and local police agencies in proving the fraud, but prosecution is generally deferred for various reasons by section chiefs. Until they prosecute actual, intentional fraud at any level, they will do the same thing year after year.
