THE PARADE... Posted: 15 Jun 2009 11:36 PM PDT It's interesting to me, and always has been - human psychology, what makes the collective "us" tick. I always talk about the market in these terms because obviously it's what drives the market up or down. Monday the market had a one way ticket down. For weeks the market seemingly wasn't going to go down EVER, and then over a weekend the psychology changed, at least for a day, and the market tanks pretty good. Now, some may say that this was just a pause, and clearly it could be. There are a couple of compelling reasons why the market will go higher before going lower. This is options expirationm week and usually we chop and reverse, we don't just trend down or up through the week. And, next week is end of the quarter and thus Window Dressing should be pretty strong, so best thing that can happen to us is that we do get a big dip cause surely it'll bounce into end of theGa month either way. We'll see soon enough. Did you know the history or psychology behind things like parades and bull fights? I'm sure some of you are smarter then me so can elaborate, but basically they are propaganda tools to control the poor and disenfranchised (sp?). In NYC we have parades all the time; Thanksgiving, New Years, etc. But, the ones I'm talking about are; Irish, Puerto Rican, Columbian, Gay and Lesbian. One parade we don't have is the White dudes, or rich dudes" parade. Why is that? The majority usually doesn't get the parade because they don't need them. There is no reason for anyone to control their temper, its highly unlikely the rich folks will start a riot and risk what they have. The poor have nothing to lose, so they are more likely candidates. Thus parades and such things are meant to distract and appease them. Gives people a reason to stay with the crowd. OK, so, you are asking - why the hell are you talking about this stuff? Well, in thinking about it, what Obama and cohorts are doing is creating one HIANT parade. In Latin America they would do bull fights whenever the people were ready to get rid of the governor. It appeased them. Obama is appeasing the poor with all his reforms and I belive its really just a prarade to try to stave off civil unrest. Ever hear of a rich guy strapping a bomb to his chest for no good reason? Not likely, but a poor kid with nothing to lose? Sure, why not. If they devalue the dollar over time and they feed people, the people will be more subserviant and well behaved. Civil unrest starts with the people most vulnerale usually. Right or wrong, I think the belief is that these peole need reform and free medical care and basically a better life to avoid them contimuing the legacy.
