"Sales of the Ford Fusion were 19,786, Ford Flex sales were 4,305 and sales of the company's hybrid vehicles totaled 3,906 - setting three new sales records. In addition, Lincoln's new sedans, the MKZ and MKS, helped the luxury brand post a 2 percent sales increase.

Hybrids are a waste of money, and as with most technologies, represent a last gasp of those who are seeking newer technologies but can't quite see their way clear to make the leap.

The Brits deployed sails on the steam-powered ships until the late 1880s. CF light bulbs are convenient stopping point before reaching the superior technology of LED.

The hybrid is an absolute sucker bet at this point.

LOL 3.906 hybrids! Yeah its a record, but only because they have just started selling them! Nowhere near the Prius old or even new sales, and look at how far it is behind the Ford Fusion! The Fusion at almost 20,000 units is almost 5 times as many hybrids, and that is just one model! BTW they thought the hybrids were going to sell about as well as the Fusion! Even the flex fuel version's sell better than a hybrid!
