Dave, to qualify for Medicaid, you have to be just this side of indigent. But, you probably know this.

cms.hhs.gov

"Medicaid does not provide medical assistance for all people with limited incomes and resources. Even under the broadest provisions of the Federal statute (except for emergency services for certain persons), the Medicaid program does not provide health care services for everyone. You must qualify for Medicaid. Low-income is only one test for Medicaid eligibility; assets and resources are also tested against established thresholds."

70% of Americans are single with no children. A HUGE percentage of these make or own too much to qualify for Medcaid, but can't afford health insurance. Many have pre-existing conditions, and really NEED the coverage. If Medicaid worked, we wouldn't be TALKING about national health insurance.

So, take your "I've got mine and you can GFY" attitude and park it where the sun don't shine..
