Terry (Off Topic),

I think you guys need to cut them a little slack...NO SYSTEM can handle the diluge of the past couple of days, put yourself on the other end of the system and see what you would do..........

I respectfully disagree. I could understand if they cannot get confirmations on orders---that sounds like a NASDAQ problem. But my not being able to log on at all, to get wire copy or even a simple quote, simply means that E*Trade has not invested enough in their server infrastructure. NOW we find out that they cannot handle a fast and heavy market. I could see problems if they had human beings swamped by incoming telephone calls, but they are supposed to be automated.

Best regards,

PD

PS I still cannot log on.

I have an E*Trade account and a Datek account. I have no money in the Datek account, but I use it for free real-time quotes. I have had no problems today with the Datek account, but the E*Trade server has been unavailable all day.

Interesting idea to short EGRP. The last time I looked, it had a really high PE. I would think they are going to get a lot of negative press in the next few days. When the market settles, I will probably transfer my E*Trade funds to Datek.
