Rule nbr 1 is, don't go the obvious crossings.
Rule nbr 2 is, if you carry serious counterfeit, also carry some obvious but not that serious decoys.
The latter may cost you a fine, which you regretfully pay...

A problem coming from Italy and going into Switzerland: The shortest connection Milano to Geneva is the Mont Blanc tunnel. After the tunnel you first cross 40 miles of French territory and there, just before the toll road to Geneva, those French pull you out in your fancy cars and check for black cash transports.

First rule anywhere: to or from Swiss territory, if you carry any valuables in excess of 10k Euro, never ever cross through French territory!

Same goes for Germany to Switzerland, where one of the smaller Austria crossings may cause delays to your schedule but at least secure your deposits where due.
