I'm not against entertainers making jokes. I thought Johnny Carson was great. I can, however, separate the difference between a joke and a mean spirited personal and/or partisan attack. Letterman made a mistake, an awful mistake, and he apologized for it. That was the right thing to do. I expect him to keep trying, as long as he holds the position of 'entertainer.' He is not in the same category as Rush or Olbermann, who are never ok with me. He is also, no Johnny Carson but he tries.
