China under Teng improved 100 fold. There still isnt democracy there and of course there is Tibet and was Tiennamen but still 100 times better. There is a big diffence between totalitarianism and represssion and authoritarian regimes with a taste of freedom and economic opportunity. At the end of the day the latter inevitably leads to freedom and some form of democratic govt. But inevitability doesnt equal speedy in all cases. Greenies in Iran will do a lot better under new president and hopefully new ayo.
