Nancy,

I have been able to get to Schwab via the web site, but it takes
several attempts and I have been randomly dropped twice.

Telebroker is hopeless.

Of course by the time I can get thru real brokers, most things I want, CPQ, LU, INTC, MSFT, COMS, already way north.

Patience, Nancy. You may glad by day's end that you couldn't place any upside orders. The last three days have been serious. We may not bounce out of this so easily. Besides, there's plenty of upside room on these battered, good companies. I'm looking to enter TXN and CPQ when things settle, probably going out to Jan or April.

Nancy, on Schwab Streetsmart Problems

I loaded up my Streetsmart quote screen at market open with 24 quotes and tried to dial in three times, but was unable to log in to Schwab at all. So I pulled up the balance screen and was able to log on immediately. I found that throughout the day I was always able to log in from the balance screen, but not always from the quote screen.

Once logged on I switched to the quote screen and was able to get quotes, but they were very slow in coming.
