The Final Frontier??? An Analogy from Space..

Captain James T. Kirk: <From the Com.Deck anxiously> Scottie, you
got to get us out of here. This discontinuity looks very serious.

Scottie: <w/heavy accent> Captain, I've been giving it all I got,
but I, I don't know, I don't know if she'll take any more.

Dr. Spock: Captain, many other vessels have tried this maneuver
but now they are only lifeless bulls, I mean hulls, in this time/space region.

Captain Kirk: Spock! Don't be so negative! We can and we must
go higher or it's the end of this bull market rally!

Dr. Spock: But Captain, as Chief Science Officer I must inform
you of the low odds of success and the extreme valuation levels.
Not to mention the potentialities of credit market dislocations.

Captain Kirk: Damn the odds!!! Scottie ! Where is that extra margin
I asked for ??? I need it now!

Scottie: But Captain, I've been trying to tell you..we're all out
of margin and lithium crystals!

to be continued..(stupid lunchtime reading. bulls/bears can
add any ending they like)

Good luck all.

Mark,

I've been getting free real time quotes and no problem with orders on Tradewell today.

< Forget Lombard/Discover Brokerage. Couldn't get confirmation of fill for 2.5 hours on web. Uggh.>

Same for me. But look into your portfolio from time to time. There you see your holdings immediately even if you don't have trading confirm.

Thomas

I also had trouble with confirmation on a (lombard) market order at open, but I was able to get through to a person who said it was just the confirmation that was late. When it did show up, I got pretty close to the opening price. I could be wrong about this, but it seems to me that the results made it to my account balance prior to the order activity. Later in the day I placed another market order and got confirmation in about 20 minutes. Slow but at least alive. And it may be that the orders are being executed rapidly. Web server is struggling to keep up, but that is not a surprise, considering the volume. I'm also banging on it for my realtime graphs and it is doing pretty well on those.
