I wonder how much those 500k Iranians in the streets of Iran "admire" Obama. To them, he is totally AWOL.

You're confusing Republican spin with reality again.

Why do you think Mousavi's official spokesman said it?

"Ahmadinejad is the Bush of Iran. And Mousavi is the Obama of Iran."

According to Obama there is no difference between the two.

Its true they are both conservatives but one is much further to the right than the other.

> That's what "soft power" means: having a President foreigners admire

The majority of Iranians are under 30. They know damn well who Obama is. The last thing they need is a Cheney telling them how to behave......that's who their rulers are....a bunch of Cheneys who don't believe in democracy. I am assuming Cheney does......that may be a big assumption.

To the Iranians in the streets, Obama is a breath of fresh air. He presents as much hope to them as he does to the people who voted for him here in the US. Hope is an international phenomenon; not one peculiar to America.
