Ten, I don't think this is a lost cause yet. During the hearings yesterday, I heard several congressmen express the view that it would take a 60-vote majority to pass the bill, and some were Ds. I think if they try to do it with 51 there are going to be problems. But when these guys start talking about "quality-adjusted life-years", you know we're in trouble. I was shocked to hear this term used in this new legislation. You're actually going to have government bureaucrats deciding whether YOUR life is worth saving if this turkey becomes law.

You're talking to a guy who likes the way the DMV is run in his state. He'll probably LOVE getting his prescription meds the same way. The DMV is better run in my state than Walgreen's. You have a problem with that? Yellow-dog Democrats can convince themselves that crap tastes like filet mignon. Have you noticed the mess that Bush and the Republicans left in this country? Huge deficits, two quagmire wars, banks frozen and broke, the auto industry collapsing, the economy on the brink of depression, unemployment skyrocketing, health care inflation sucking us dry, energy costs sucking us dry... If that tastes like fillet mignon to you I would go vegetarian.
