Too many unemployed people are relying on Monster.com or listed jobs to find work, as if the jobs are just going to come to them. This is one aspect of Japan's lost decade that we really shouldn't emulate. By volunteering, people who are unemployed can get off their behinds and find opportunities on their own. Funny how you assume this is targeted to unemployed people, not employed people like, um, you, who should be 'giving back'.
