<Fair enough but if you keep asking for clarification there comes a point where you seem to be using a Clintonian dodge in an effort to avoid something that is making you uncomfortable or do not want to acknowledge.>

LOL!! You've got quite a confrontational style... think I"m trying to 'trick' you about a discussion on god tangential to the topic of evolution? You have to excuse me if I find that a tad amusing. I'm getting the feeling that there are only certain 'gods' you're "happy" with?

<I don't know why it's so hard for a Roman Catholic to admit that there is a personal God who Created the universe? >

Perhaps it's because BEING Catholic AND having 2 kids in Catholic Grade School (well, my daughter goes into HS next year) and being VERY involved in their religious studies........ I still don't know what you're talking about with a "personal god"?

<Now I realize that you probably only have one group in mind for the "wacko" label that you are so fond of but even your own sources acknowledge that the group called creationists is much wider than that.>

Correct that I only have one group in mind... I've got enough going on in my own studies both Biological and Spiritual not to bother chasing around learning about all sorts of other ideas just so I know what they are. Further, it is NORMAL for Catholics (you may not like this) to distance themselves from "creationist" label... in fact the ONLY time I've heard it discussed at the kids school or anywhere else "Catholic" is in the vain: "We are NOT creationists". So while maybe that's "not so nice"... I'm not about to correct anyone if I hear it again... nor am I about to correct them and say "actually you ARE a creationist!" LOL I'm afraid that if you're trying to broaded the current usage of the term 'creationist' you're spinning your wheels. BWTFDIK.

<Catholicism has always held that God (with a capital G btw)
is a personal (actually tri-personal) being.>

And I"ve read ALL about it recently (having recently been involved with RCIA) and it's always labeled a "mystery"... if you can explain the holy Trinity you should write a book.

<"God acts just by willing: he wills that things be a certain way, and they are that way. (God said "Let there be light"; and there was light."
afterall.net;

Can't get much broader than THAT... look there are zillions of kinds of Catholics... MOST OF WHICH (probably 90some%) don't believe parts of the 'doctrine' or ''dogma'... I'm sure you don't either and that's why you're not Catholic.

I'm most drawn to the teachings of what one might call the more 'mystic' Catholics... St. Francis, Father Pio, Meister Eckhardt, Father de Mello is a modern favorite:

There are dozens of these folks through history... some burned at the stake at one time or another interestingly.

Furthing the clarification I'm pretty much a "New Testament" reader... IMHO Jesus teachings are enough and dealving into Old Testiment stuff if confusing and much more easily understood. I also think that folks forget that the actual scripture to be included in the "Bible" was decided on by the Catholic Church at a "council" meeting (political no doubt). But that's JMO of course.

I think this Pope has it right, at least intellectually intellectually:

He didn't display THAT when he got off the plane in NYC during his trip. But Oh well.

But I like THIS guys idea very much too although he has Love in the wrong place :) :

So what's YOUR god like?
