It's not easy to earn this kind of money from medicare. I love older people, but they usually do not sprint through the office (g). Then, overhead will consume well over 50% of the gross. What's left is not a huge amount. A friend of mine was a very busy family doc, working practically 7 days a week, with few breaks - and when he eventually gave up his practice and took a full time position as a Hospitalist, his net income actually significantly increased. Go figure. edit - actually, my own story is not all that different.
