By not including JNI and RMI they are preventing apps written on non-Microsoft versions of JDK 1.1 from running on their JVM.
Also, and I haven't tested this, but by adding methods to a class,
you may interfere with serializability.


MS should support RMI and JNI, I agree. I'm dissapointed they are not. However, this is not part of their agreement with Sun. Also, very few JVMs support those yet.

Let's stick to what we put on the screen rather than our resumes, ok?

Sorry. I agree. I'm just getting irritated by the "go read this" stuff. I've already read it, otherwise I wouldn't be here.
