Yes very interesting no one ever talks about a wealth tax.If mentioned the elite will say that it is unfair, the money has been taxed before. There is no inherently fair or unfair tax. In the US the highest wealth individuals pay a much lower tax rate than I do. The elite have the money and now they want the power over people that the wealth differential brings. They want to hold down any usurpers. Only when educated enough can one out smart the system. That is why the intellectuals in the Soviet Union were so dangerous. In Brazil the system paid off the unions, journalists and professors to be part of the system right up until the point the elite were threatened by collapse of the whole. The elite then let go of the hands of the privileged middle class and formed an alliance with the common people. It was that more than anything else which has made Brazil do as well as it has recently. Few people caught this at the time and Elroy doesn't even get it now.
You see humans were beings created to see things in the light of relative. Even economics has shown that people will not accept $500 for free if it means the guy next door gets $2000 for free. A person with a lot of money cares less about money than his position relative to others. Many become politicians and talk about redistribution of income, but not about a wealth tax. They get many secondary needs : deify themselves, hold competition down, and even protect themselves from the next revolution.
Now, as to how we were made. Depression is as natural to man as pain is. It is not a chemical imbalance (It is a structural problem in some people that some are born with a low depression tolerance just like some are born with a low pain tolerance)Depression requires a disconnect between were you are and where you want to be. Most people are depressed for this reason, not the structural reason. You can not be depressed if you do not have the cognition to see the disconnect. We were made to get depressed to force us towards the norm and above if possible. Depression is just another form of pain. Pain says something is wrong with my body do something about it. Depression says something is wrong with my situation do something about it. People who jump off bridges are in pain. Now lets say Elmat is quite pleased with himself watching the pretty girls in Angola. Klaser flies by with wings and says to Elmat "We all awoke with wings and we are going to fly to the Grand Canyon today, you coming?"If you can not fly you go from happy to severe depression in seconds. Going from below the norm to the norm treats depression. Going above the norm creates pleasure. Antidepressants like anti pain meds only reset the thermostat so you feel less pain per given situation. Economics and medicine meet
