Phil, there's much truth in what you say. The US got caught in a state of extreme indebtedness, just when it needed more money for economic stimulus, and to overcome the possibility of a financial crash.

And yes, the steps taken have been questionable on many fronts. The elites whose practices triggered this crisis just go from one mistake to the next, and things certainly look bad.

But I'll say it again: many nations have been in worse spots, with cities bombed and decimated, infrastructure ruined and economies in a shambles. They found a way.
