Skeeter, of course there's inflation - but nothing serious... certainly not the sort of hyperinflation that is being discussed here.

In the last 50 years we've seen double-digit inflation before, and we're nowhere near that.

So if you're stating opinion, fine. No one can argue opinion. Just don't confuse it with fact.

Many nations have been in bad straits before - the example I posted a few months ago was China itself, 30 years ago. The Chinese are resourceful, hard-working people and they've accomplished a lot.

I just don't buy this "it's the end" crap. It's only the end if people think it's the end.

Everybody makes mistakes, even nations. There are things that can be done, steps that can be taken. Yes, it will take time, hard work and sacrifice. But if a nation's people don't have the courage of their convictions, if they don't have what it takes to pull themselves up after they've fallen down, then they are doomed.

Right now great changes are in motion, and the future is not clear. I hope statements made here are not representative of American thought, and I don't believe they are.
