This is precisely what Bush predicted, by the way. That after seeing democracy coming to Iraq, the Iranians would rise up.

You sure won't see Obama's state run media mention it...

"But without Bush, we would never have seen this uprising of people demanding a democratic process."

You know this, how?

Oh, right. You don't.

"But it is great that they are looking next door at Iraq, even with all its problems, and realizing they want freedom from theocracy."

They have realized it for a while. It has had nothing to do with Iraq and everything to do with contact with the West. Iran still sends a large number of their young to study in the West, just not the US. And those who haven't, they have access to the Internet. So they know.

Do you know any Farsi? I do. Iran is not North Korea. The educated, their equivalent of the liberals and perpetual college students you so despise, have contact and knowledge of the West. Their parents remember what it was like under the Shah, the good and the bad. And they want the good. The more rural Iranians, the equivalent of Arkansas for them, didn't have the good aspects of the Shah and all of the negatives. They are the ones who support the status quo. The fact you don't seem to understand this basic dynamic means your opinions are worthless.

The symbols of this conflict are tomatoes and not being able to afford an apartment. If you don't understand this, then you don't understand what is at stake here.
