can well believe the issue about gold weight distribution, and shanghai's soil is still famousely silty regarding those times, it was all about ridding china of foreign imperial and local warlord pests, a task that ultimately proved to be do-able by greater terror so went so much of history and once a society shies away from great big cleansing, preferring gradual this and tempered that, the cleansing needs merely accumulate, eventually necessitating greater than great terror, and so goes the cycle, imo
