Congratulations

You did get through to tech support, had you of used Chas Schwab according to CNN you would have had to drive to their local office as the phones were to jammed for some customers to get through for hours. Ameritrade was impossible to log onto and no alternate servers, and screen changes could take 15 minutes. E*trade went down, NDB went down, and you couldn't get through on the phone at all. etc. etc. etc.

It would be by luck only that any broker had the capacity today, maybe he just upgraded and hadn't added customers so that he had free capacity left. Maybe one did. Online brokers have grown at a rate that is difficult to imagine, Datek for instance went from 6 users to 60,000 from July 1996 to July 1997. Pretty hard to keep up with that kind of growth, but they were successful on the third largest trading day in history for the NASDAQ, (yesterday) combined with all the other failures this morning of other systems they had problems, but so did every body else so quit crying.
