This was Obama's moment. A time when he could have shown true leadership. He chose to go another direction.

If the revolution fails, we'll never know what difference his words might have made.

But there is no doubt that Reagan's rhetoric was crucial in ending the Cold War.

And I've heard some Iranians who said the Obama policy was the right one, too. But the simple truth is that the revolution, if it is to succeed, is far bigger than that.

This is about the realization of GWB's plan to see democracy take root and grow in the ME which is of national security interest in America. The idea that you're going to piss the mullahs off is absurd.

America used to be a beacon for freedom; since Jan this year it is feeling more like a burned out bulb.
