They might not be, but there are plenty in Iran who do. Which is my point. If the US weighs in on anything but fair elections and due process, it will only make things worse. Which, if you knew anything about the situation, you'd know. In the first place, it doesn't matter whether these people "remember" or not. And it doesn't matter whether or not they WANT our president to say something. What matters is that our president is purportedly the leader of the free world and he is cowering. I will agree that if he doesn't know what to say he ought to keep his mouth shut. I have no doubt a Ronald Reagan or GWB would have known what to say, however. I don't care to argue it further with you as we're at an impasse. I do believe it is one more example of you not having a clue but choosing to mouth off about it anyway.

Obama has been flawless. If situation escalates and repression becomes more violent, there may be a time when a more dramatic statement/action might become necessary. A few months after tiannemen, papa bush realized where bread was buttered and was cozying up to commies. Iran not china and after this we are certainly not getting any concessions from ayotollahs and amadijad. This will be more like NK in their dealings with us than anything else so at some point we will have little to lose and that point we can befriend iranian people for generations by saying right thing in right manner.
