A good broker is worth a good commission. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find good ones in the past. Most are mainly salesmen. If they were really smart they probably wouldn't have to spend their time messing around with retail clients. Of course there are exceptions. I have been investing for nearly 30 years now, full time for about the last 8, so I really don't need advice too often. What I need is research, good execution, and accessability. There is no reason online trading shouldn't be reliable ... the brokers are just too stingy to spend the money to develop and test a good system. I'm going to transfer a good bit of my funds to a full line broker.
