Your mention of Mount Olympus reminds me, we stopped in Naples about 5 weeks ago, we went to the ruins of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius was right there towering over Pompeii like a mean giant... we walked for miles through the ruins, Pompeii was really impressive, everything was as if frozen in time except it was all super heated in time, they even had running water which still runs today, it was drinkable... it was like a modern city except they had no electricity, otherwise it seemed very familiar and modern in a really odd way...
