<As long as the government is able to generate debt, deflation is a highly unlikely outcome. And when the government reaches the practical limits of debt creation, the underpinnings of the currency give way and the economy tends to collapse in a stagflationary slump.>

I wish I could say that we stand at the crossroads today -- but truth be told we are past the point of no return when it comes to our inflationary course. All we can hope for now is that Obama will put a tight collar on this snarling dog -- but a snarling dog it will still be -- and yes, it bites.
