They don't have enough gold for a gold-backed currency. USD
would be backed at 11K per Oz. They inflated them currencies
way too far already, so they have to stick to the guns and call
gold a Barbaric relic.

So, to answer your question, if the IMF issues a currency it
won't have any gold backing -g- If we and others hyperinflate, then
maybe gold has a chance to come back as a monetary anchor,
otherwise it does not.
