He who controls the military controls the country.

The military in Iran is the Revolutionary Guard and their minions the Basij.

Those guys have the power, the guns, and the money and they aren't gonna give it up even if the Mullahs in Qom tell them they have to.

That's always been the case, but NOW it has come out in the open.

It's like 1933 Germany and the "people" came into the streets protesting. Do you think the "brownshirts" would suddenly say, "Oh, the people aren't happy with our movement, so I guess we should just give up our uniforms and let those "elitests" run everything again. We can go back to being uneducated, unemployed losers".
