I think we're getting the version his wife got."

Possibly. He certainly is trying to spin it for all it is worth. Now, personally, I don't really care if he had an affair or not. And if he didn't have his eye on the White House, I wouldn't care at all, except maybe to chuckle quietly. But, for someone who was eying the presidency, he has shown exceedingly poor judgment. Not the least of which is his assumption that he could fly down to Argentina for the better part of a week and no one would notice. If he had phoned her to tell her it was over, things would have played out differently. Or even sent her a ticket and met with her, say, on the Appalachian Trail. But he did things in such a way that pretty much guaranteed he would be caught.

I thought it was self sabotage....the brinkmanship.......but now I think it can be attributed to his arrogance. He's been getting away with it for so long.....probably a lot longer than 5 months......so he figured he could pull anything off. Did you see where he left a baseball cap, running shoes and hiking shoes in his car at the Columbia airport? I suspect all for show as his cover for his big hike on the Appalachian Trail. It would be comical if he were a tweener but a grown man.....how stupid can you get?

As for his going down there, is there anyone who really believes this affair is over? And his wife......can you believe she fell for the 'I have to go off and write my feelings' lie he gave her? No one I ever went out with would have fallen for that line......not in a million years. <g>
