Probably not, but the governor's job is, if nothing else, to be there and be accessible.

Had he gone to his Lt. Gov and said, "I'm taking a few days off to run to Argentina. You take over" -- that would have been different.

He's out. Betcha.


Actually I am not sure how out of touch he was. Seemed like he called in on Sunday or Monday by one account. For the governor to be on duty is important, but not as for as President which he has no hope of becoming. But that issue will not sink him. The sex very well could. But after Clinton I would not make a bet on that. Also he was extremely popular from the start.
