I wouldn't consider shorting stocks that close at their highs for the day. However, yhoo looks like it might be good shorting above 45 during the next week. I think we'll retest the lows around 7200 to 7000 before going significantly higher.

Roger, don't know how useful my lists were today. I suppose it would have been more useful 24 hours sooner. :)

I suspect that most of the stocks that I listed as "suggested shorts" that were between the 50 and 200 day moving averages yesterday probably opened at or below the 200ma. So, if you followed my rule to cover at the 200ma, you would not have initiated a short in these.

Some of the stocks that have so far held their 50ma did quite well today. However, some violated it in the process. CREAF is one example.

This morning was a day-trader's dream if you were able to get trades executed. I choose not to (except to pick up small positions in TDF, MDCO, and BROC), and suppose I will never see these conditions again. :(

I was concerned both about the market and my ability to get trades executed. Datek seems to have come through with flying colors, though.

One could have made 60% in a couple of hours, fully-margined in INTCW. Whew! Who needs options?!
