Obama has been terrific. We have stepped back from the abyss.

A better description would be "stepped INTO the abyss".

Guess again. I have no desire for Obama to fail. To the contrary...which is why he has been such a huge disappointment. His spending and FP has been a disaster.

Obama made a good first impression on me, as he has with most people not positioned to oppose him a priori. I am especially skeptical of my own assessment of first impressions, however. I have done some research on first impressions related to employment interviews and have tested them out on myself when in a hiring capacity. Interesting stuff but the bottom line there is, it is not always easy to see beyond the veneer of first impressions. It involves a challenge to your own ego as much as a test of the O man.

The first question must be, 'Was I wrong?' Not a question most people are prepared to deal with. It is a test question to be revisited again and again.
