My friends, despite what CNN and the rest are telling you, Barack Obama is nothing more than an old school African Colonial who is on his way to turning this country into one of the developing nations that you learn about on the National Geographic Channel. I think that is what most people on this thread noticed too.

It's true that clinging to tribal identity is disastrous. A great strength of the USA was immigrants ditching their cultures and becoming American. Normally that took two generations because immigrants don't change a lot. <1. Convince the people that "clinging" to any aspect of their cultural (tribal) identity or history is bad and regresses the process of "unity". British Imperialists deeply feared people who were loyal to anything other than the state. "Tribalism" made the imperialists have to work harder to get people to just fall in line. Imperialists pitted tribes against each other in order to create chaos that they then blamed on ethnic rivalry. > The tribes were already pitted against each other around the world, which is why the British Empire was able to make such gains bringing civilisation to warring barbarians. Maoris killed and ate each other constantly. They were atavistic hunter gatherers with kumara crops and not much else. Plenty of natives joined the British because they could see they'd be a lot better off than as chattels in their tribes and slaves or dinner to their conquerors. British Imperialists didn't deeply fear tribal people. Missionaries were out to help them become civilized. Plenty of them were keen to join civilization, which is why British rule was so commonly accepted. The main temporal point about Christianity is that all people are of a family and should meet in the bonds of mutuality rather than as warring genocidal tribal alpha male dominance hierarchy conquerors. Of course when barbarians like Amendiejihad send murderous goons out on motorbikes to murder and plan to arm themselves with atomic bombs to conduct genocide, then it's time for the redcoats to take control by force.
