Doug: when I speak about the NC's I am NOT talking about corporate america. Corporate American will not look at the NC's anytime soon. There are 2 distinct market segments for APCC's traditional UPS's, Corporate and home user\SOHO. Listen carefully to my words (I am not trying to smart to you), the RATE of growth for the corporate marketplace will not grow as fast RELATIVE to previous years, this market is fairly saturated on a RELATIVE basis.

Again, the home market with moms, dads and kids using NC's without hard drives will care less about power protection.

Finallly, study APCC's growth rate overseas and listen to the news about all of the turmoil in Southeast Asia and what this is going to do to demand over there, and one might want to ratchet down growth rates for APCC in 1998, I don't believe that this has been factored in yet as well as many other companies with exposure over seas. We will need a little bit more "proof in the pudding" but that is my vote. I head tomorrow morning on an 8am flight to Rhode Island to visit with American Power and I will give an update when I return on Friday.

Take care,

Phillip
