The Republicans who helped pass the spending bill – which is padded with pork-barrel spending -- are Sens. Richard Shelby of Alabama, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Olympia Snowe of Maine, Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker of Mississippi, Kit Bond of Missouri, Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, and Lamar Alexander of Tennessee. Those Republicans all used the spending bill to bring money home to their congressional districts. This is pathetic. Just pathetic. Anyone who heard Boehner's speech on the floor yesterday had some sense of just how bad this bill was. It touched every part of the US Code, imposing huge new regulations everywhere. It is shameful that these people voted for this bill. Some, no doubt, are assuming it can't get through the Senate, which as far as I'm concerned is a total abdication of their responsibility. God, I wish I lived in one of those states so I could vote one of these creeps out.
