One of the complaints around here is that the power generated by the turbines is not even used here. It's put on the grid and sent to California. Guess that's something of a NIMBY argument - "why should we have the wind farms when we don't get to use the power?" I don't necessarily disagree. It's a bit like Obama's "we just want to spread the wealth" comment. They just want to take local electrical power and spread it around (primarily to California).
