His answer to the woman with the 100 year old mother who bought a pacemaker was cold as ice and sent a chill down my spine. To paraphrase, maybe pain killers would be better for people like that. Hence my comment in 311397.

I see ABC censored that part of his comment out on their web site. But he said this:

" Maybe you're better off not having the surgery, but taking the painkiller."

This after the woman told him how grateful her mother was for the extra life and how happy the family is that the spirited woman is still in their lives.
