John, very interesting observations. How many times this century have you been able to identify this pattern? Although selloff began on a Thursday from Dow 8303, it was a 600 point hit but it did not conform to this pattern. Turned out to be a two week slide and bottomed on a Monday. I guess that the total lack of any support on the Monday most want to forget, probably contributed to yesterday's debacle.
