In fact in some recent interview in the San Jose Mercury News McNealy said that McCraken is a "nice guy". If anything that's a back-handed comment from Scott. He's used to eating Ed's lunch day in day out. What else do U expect him to say??? Nice guys always finish LAST!

Ed's such a nice guy that he: 1) allowed his buddy Barksdale to start up Netscape to takeover the internet when SGI could've been at the forefront of his technology; 2) allows a nice fat-lead in the server business to companies such as csco, cpq, dell, etc. b4 finally realizing there is a server business; 3) bails Cray Research out with an acquisition when Cray was hurting for years with low profitability and high-expense driven balance sheets; and 4) tells his buddy Scott McNealy to take a hike when at the time, could've been a windfall for shareholders for a potential buyout of SGI (prior to acq. of Cray). Yeah, I tell u what, Ed's such a nice guy that this guy is starting to be barely noticed and respected by his Silicon Valley peers as anything but a visionary who's always a buck short and a day late. Just wondering what these guys have to say Thursday, Al
