I'd say CO2 alone doesn't drive world climate. Climate with all it's complexities is a multi-variable equation. I'd say two of the most important drivers of temperature, however, are CO2 and sunspots. Both are highly correlated with sunspot causality having been proven. CO2 causality is still a question in my mind, but we know it is highly correlated.

Lastly, we know temperature does drive climate change. So higher temperatures, caused by whatever, is still not something we want over the long run.
