Disability is after tax deduction. Well employees that pay their own and/or with tax taken out get to claim it as a tax deduction at year end provided they meet the +(about) 10% needed to write off such items....I think. Also this is my wife who has me covered also w/family plan. I'm not Outraged over the Govt. now starting to have to count it as income..but then I'm not complaining about taking my interest on my home mort. payments off either(ha). It's funny the health insurers could find O 8 billion savings in health costs when forced to, but before now ....nothing.Thanks for your reply. PS: Never been lucky/unlucky enough to draw disability or sick pay either for that matter. Oh well......

RE:"Many have long enjoyed this tax loophole. They get some of their income tax-free. How delicious. They're outraged by the idea that they might be placed on equal footing with other Americans. They're special. They deserve special treatment. How dare someone think they should be just like everyone else?"

I see you are in favor of closing this loophole for everybody?
